Job Duration: Full Time

Job Location: New York, NY USA The successful candidate will work in our midtown office.

FitEngine magazine is seeking an advertising sales associate that can seek and generate ad sales, generate market information for potential advertisers, maintain contacts with advertisers/ad agencies and other industry contacts and specialists. This position also has regular contact with the Publisher and editorial staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face to face meetings.
  • Performs extensive research on the marketplace developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts for follow-up purposes
  • Generates market information, especially on the opportunity for potential advertisers
  • Maintains strong industry credibility, staying up to date on new developments and technologies and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new accounts.
  • Prepares summary activity reports detailing account contacts, product, competitive and market information via Goldmine/Salesforce or compatible database
  • Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling
  • Contributes to research efforts in new products
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Publisher

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Media sales experience mandatory, preferred but not mandatory in an urban lifestyle publishing environment
  • Understands issues relevant to the fitness/wellness/sports market and industry, not mandatory
  • Anticipates and responds to potential opportunities
  • Must have tactful people skills and enthusiasm and industry contacts
  • Have the ability to sell other products and services (e.g., event sponsorships, online etc.)
  • A desire to grow with a company (that is a fun place to work with fitness and wellness perks)
